What is a Chamber of Commerce?

A Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization that unites businesses and professional people in an effort to expand the economy of an area. It must be understood that a Chamber of Commerce is PEOPLE. There is a place in the Chamber for members to get involved and accomplish collectively what no one of them could do alone, thereby creating a pool of resources from which to draw ideas, energies and finance. Today, Chambers of Commerce have become community organizations which recognize all the factors that affect their community and adjust their programs accordingly. 
 

What a Chamber is NOT...

A Chamber of Commerce is not a department of the city, county or state governments; a social, service or charitable institution; a private advertising, publicity or public relations agency.

What can membership do for my business?

By joining approximately the 1,260-company Chamber membership, you have exposed your company to the myriad opportunities offered to market your business, educate your employees, network with regional executives and your colleagues, save your company money and receive detailed information about the Muskegon area. Examine the available options and help your company reach its business goals. The Chamber provides a vehicle to forward your pro-business ambitions; enhance credibility, influence, and clout; save on business services packages and programs; and participate in programs and events with regional business leaders and elected officials.

How can I let my customers know that I am a member of the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce?

Members are encouraged to show pride in your membership by using the Chamber logo on your business collateral pieces and your Web site. Members may download the official version of the Chamber’s logo directly from the Chamber’s Web site, (available under Identity Standards). Please contact us for other version or formats. All printed collateral or use of the logo must get prior approval from the Chamber.
