MUSKEGON, MI – A proposal to build condominiums on a downtown city-owned lot has received the support of Muskegon city staff.

The proposal from a local developer was one of two submitted in response to a city request for development proposals for the lot at the corner of West Western Avenue and Jefferson Street.

Both involve the development of housing. The proposal that City Manager Frank Peterson said he thinks is best was submitted by Michael Kordecki’s MJK Properties for 14 two-story condominiums.

The other proposal, submitted by Smith Equities and Smith Development of Mt. Pleasant, is for a mixed-use commercial and residential development focusing on apartments for students.
